‘Event-full’ December
Friday, December 29th, 2006Dear sugarplum fairy,
Quick touch on last week:
What a rush of events!
My cousin, at 21, is happily married. Oh what bliss! Last weekend i stood watching her being photographed over and over again. And with each snap of the camera, she stepped closer to leaving The Ahmad’s for a family of her own and to be part of her husband’s. I had tears in my eyes, it was so heartfelt!
The pre-wedding night, my mother’s huge (and expanding) family of 16 gathered to help out with the wedding decorations, the food, the finishing bits of the dais, her henna and i, being the young one, helped out with the little ‘thank you’/ door gifts in the wee hours of the morning.
So at 2am, where everyone was just too exhausted and intensively trying to get all things straightened up and settled just so to leave for home and get rest, there i was telling my aunts how i was hungry and wanted to run down to get supper from macdonald’s but had only 7bucks, trying to make jokes, broke a glass and took pictures! Hahaha! What a nuisance!
Meet Maria as young member of family, with no make-up, in a t-shirt, and a basket full of antics; making a fool of herself.
Wedding Day!

Yas’s graduation show was a success. The exhibition was impressive and i was just beaming proud to see his works being displayed. For the occasion, I brushed my hair and settled on a preppy mix of clothes, bagged me a Christian Dior and sprayed on my favourite perfume. I rushed to buy some perky fresh flowers for the graduating girls and congratulated the guys. Speaking of some serious enthusiasm!
I neglected my christmas list only to realise i had less than a week to shop. Chrystelle was leaving for Perth that Friday and it sure as hell gave me a reason to sit myself down and run through the list again. I fixed the mess and Christmas sailed nice and smooth.
Leo’s wedding at Pan Pacific was too sweet. I sat at table 5, starry-eyed and couldn’t stop saying "awww". The food was awesome and everyone looked stunning. I slipped on my best dress and had a ball of a time. And so everyone’s getting married.
Is it me or is it mating season? I mean, wedding season.
